Rules for Submitting Images
The process of submitting images to Photochrome is simple, but in order for your images to be accepted, you must follow these instructions exactly:
1. Resize all images so the longest side is 1024 pixels.
2. Submit images in .jpeg/.jpg format.
3. Name each image file as follows:
Category–Photographer’s Name–Title.jpg
Categories are:
OS (Open Subject)
TN (Theme Night)
Category, Photographer’s Name, and Title must be separated by a single hyphen (–) character. For example:
OS-Ansel Adams-Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico.jpg
TN-Man Rey-Tears.jpg
5. Send e-mail with one or more images attached to:
The deadline is midnight the Wednesday evening before a Thursday meeting.
You should receive an automated reply e-mail confirming receipt of your images. The confirmation email will show a thumbnail of each image and either a “Successfully submitted” or “Submission FAILED” message and a description of any errors found. If submission of any image fails, correct the errors and try again.
Send e-mail to support@photochrome.org for assistance.
Resubmitting Images
If, after successfully submitting an image, you wish to replace it, send the new image again using exactly the same file name. The confirmation email will show a “Successfully resubmitted” message.
Submitting Sequences of Images
For most club events, individual images are projected in random order; however, a sequence of N related separate images may be arranged for presentation as a single entry by adding -1 of N, -2 of N, -3 of N … –N of N after the Title of each image in the sequence. Note that the Category, Photographer’s First and Last Name, and Title of each image in the sequence must be exactly the same. For example:
OS-Eadweard Muybridge-The Horse in Motion-1 of 4.jpg
OS-Eadweard Muybridge-The Horse in Motion-2 of 4.jpg
OS-Eadweard Muybridge-The Horse in Motion-3 of 4.jpg
OS-Eadweard Muybridge-The Horse in Motion-4 of 4.jpg
