About

The Photochrome Camera Club of San Francisco was founded in 1942 and over the years has attracted many members and distinguished guests of all ages and levels of expertise, from beginner to professional. Photochrome is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) as well as of the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C).
Our meetings are intended to provide an inclusive, supportive environment to help us all learn from each other and improve our photography skills. Members are encouraged to discover their own type and style of photography. The club has the following objectives:

EDUCATION
Improve your skills by interacting with and learning from experienced photographers. Learn from pros and respected teachers who discuss photographic techniques, both creative and technical, at regular meetings and through special education programs. Stimulate your photographic eye by viewing other people’s images and receiving gentle feedback on your images.

FRIENDLY COMPETITION
Unlike more competitive photography clubs, members are not placed in groups by level of experience. We currently do NOT participate in regional N4C competitions, however we do encourage our members to participate independently in regional competitions sponsored by the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C) if they wish. We do hold an annual club competition which we call ImageFest but the majority of our meetings are non-competitive.

FELLOWSHIP
Meet others with similar interests. Join Photochrome members on local photography outings. Attend the annual dinner, group shows, and other special events.
