We know some of you miss the judge nights and competitions that used to be part of the club’s calendar so we’re trying something new – an online competition for Photochrome club members. Here’s how it works:
- Register to play, or login if you have previously registered
- Upload One image before 2012-03-16
- Vote on the images posted by 2012-03-31
- We’ll announce the results at the first meeting in April.
Treat this like an open pictorial so anything goes. Show something new that you haven’t shown the club before. When you prepare your image for entry please make the longest dimension 800 otherwise they may be too large to be seen by some viewers.
No prizes except the fame and glory among your club-mates. This is just a test to make sure everything works and to see if there is any interest this kind of friendly competition moving forward. Let us know what you think or if you have any issues taking part. As we mentioned, this is a beta , inaugural contest so please bear with us if there are any hiccups but we hope you have fun.
I just noticed this, so it’s too late for me to enter an image. Can I still vote? If yes, how?
Forgot my prior question; I figured out how to vote without posting. Here are my comments:
1. The first image, I think it’s called Mechanics, is not displaying.
2. In addition to rating each photo with a number of stars, I’d like to be able to rank the top three. I may want to give multiple images 4 stars, but prefer one over the other.
3. I would prefer that the names of the posters be left blank until voting is complete. I also lean towards leaving the names of the voters blank.
4. Could a spot be added for comments so the photographer can receive feedback about their image?
I think this is an interesting idea; I look forward to seeing how it evolves.
I think we’ll call this 1st attempt a failure. I’m going to look at the plugin again but it doesn’t seem too stable.
