Mountain Home Lake & Fort Scott
Alice Steele, Leader
Much of the Presidio is restored and just seems to invite the viewer to “Take my picture!” Some parts are more reserved and not quite so well-tended. First, we’ll visit Mountain Home Lake, at the very edge of the Presidio. Enter at 12th Avenue and Lake Streets (find street parking) to seek out an interpretation of this attractive little lake. We’ll spend about an hour there and then head for Fort Scott, an area that’s not-yet prettied up. Enter at the intersection of Storey Road and Lincoln Blvd. A parking lot is at the south side of the intersection on Storey Road. Old buildings, peeling paint. Note: There may be some police practice activity nearby but that is off limits for our photography. If you would like to carpool, email me at sfalice-at-aol.com.

Members will show up to two images featuring The Color Green for discussion by all. Then there will be a “Pick Six” for those who attended the Fort Point Field trip and/or the April 18 Mt. Diablo outing. Each member may show a combined total of six images from these trips.
The group will decide what the subject will be for the next Theme Night, on August 7.

The PSA (Photographic Society of America) will hold its 2008 conference in Portland this year. Since it’s just up the road, so to speak, this one is an easy conference to take in. Some 50 presenters are scheduled along with workshops, photo tours, classes and meetings. The hotel is the Marriot Downtown Waterfront Hotel. Lots of information and a registration form are at the PSA website or in the PSA Journal.

Remember, Photochrome is a member of PSA as are some individual members of the Club. However, you do not have to be a member to attend this week-long conference of photographers. (It may cost a bit more to register)
